Temple Management Courses Receive a Boost Through Strategic Partnerships with Mumbai University and WeSchool

Temple Connect is proud to announce groundbreaking partnerships with Mumbai University and the Welingkar Institute of Management Development and Research (WeSchool) through the signing of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs). These collaborations aim to revolutionize temple management by enhancing and supporting specialized Temple Management Courses. Through these educational alliances, Temple Connect seeks to integrate scientific management with traditional practices to optimize temple administration and operations.

Temple Connect Partners with Mumbai University and WeSchool to Revolutionize Temple Management Education

The Temple Management Course offerings range from 6-month to 2-year Certificate, Advanced Certificate, and Diploma programs, featuring both in-person and online modes. Course content spans various topics including Multiple Facets of Management, People Management, Socio-Cultural Management, Design Orientation, Sustainability, Indian Knowledge System, Inclusivity – Community Engagement and Development, Legal Compliance, Use of Information and Technology in the temples, Crowd Management, Asset Management, and so on. While the current eligibility requirement for these courses is Graduation, plans are underway to make these programs accessible to individuals with 10th and 12th-grade qualifications in the near future.

 

The Temple Management Course Committee, under the adept leadership of Dr. Suresh Haware, former Chairman of Sai Baba Sansthan Shirdi, featured distinguished participants such as Professor Dr. Ravindra Kulkarni, Vice-Chancellor of Mumbai University, and Shri Prasad Lad, Member of the Legislative Assembly. Prof. Dr. Uday Salunkhe, Group Director of Prin. L. N. Welingkar Institute of Management Development & Research (WeSchool), along with Dr. Suhas Pednekar, former Vice-Chancellor of Mumbai University, and Shri Giresh Vasudev Kulkarni, Founder of Temple Connect, were also present. These leaders, along with other eminent figures from the temple economy across India and globally, came together to guide and shape the future of Temple Management Courses.

Professor Dr. Ravindra Kulkarni, Vice-Chancellor of Mumbai University, expressed, “It is an honor for us to sign this MoU with Temple Connect. This partnership will enable us to educate our students on the crucial aspects of temple management.”

Prof. Dr. Uday Salunkhe, Group Director at Welingkar Institute of Management Development and Research (WeSchool), stands out as the pioneering Edupreneur who has personally guided and garnered valuable insights from an observational study of 15 temples across Maharashtra. Accompanied by professors and management students, this research laid the foundational groundwork for developing a structured curriculum that supports the launch of the Certificate/Advanced Certificate/Diploma Program in Temple Management.

At the Temple Management Course Advisory Meet, Dr. Salunkhe delivered insightful remarks that solidified Temple Connect’s commitment to exploring new frontiers in enhancing the devotee experience through professional and scientific temple management practices. He expressed confidence that this partnership would deepen participants’ comprehension of temple administration and aid in the preservation of our rich cultural heritage, ultimately fostering a positive social impact.

Dr. Suresh Haware, Chairman of the Temple Management Education Committee and author of the Temple Management Book, remarked, “Temple Connect is celebrated for its extensive global temple network, effectively bridging the divide between devotees and sacred sites. We are grateful for this MoU and expect it to greatly enhance our students’ global understanding of temple management.”

Shri Prasad Lad, MLC Maharashtra, said, “This collaboration has been an exciting step, and we hope that with this, we are able to help the temple economy thrive in the nation and across the world.”

Giresh Vasudev Kulkarni, Founder of Temple Connect and International Temple Convention and Expo (ITCX), expressed his enthusiasm, saying, We’re thrilled to associate with Welingkar Institute of Management Development and Research and Mumbai University. Our goal is to raise awareness about temple ecosystems and their management. We’re eager to participate in the same to enhance the temple economy.I must acknowledge here that Mumbai University and WeSchool are the first Management Institutes under Dr. Kulkarni’s and Dr. Salunkhe’s stewardship to have undertaken an observational study on major temples across Maharashtra, that set the basis for designing a structured Program on Temple Management, soon to be launched from Mumbai University and WeSchool’s Mumbai campus.”

Temple Connect will play a pivotal role in interfacing with both the temple ecosystem and educational institutions, by facilitating the involvement of industry experts and sharing valuable, practical insights in temple management. This collaboration will also include the activation of internships and direct placements at temples. “We plan to expand this course nationally through Temple Connect at numerous state universities and institutions, offering it in various regional languages to enhance accessibility and comprehension for better temple management and coordination. This initiative marks the beginning of a transformative era in the Temple Management sector. We are currently collaborating with over 19 state and private universities and institutions that are eager to launch similar programs across India,” stated Giresh Vasudev Kulkarni.
